LESSONS: SENIOR YEAR
I was robbed junior year while studying abroad in Paris and didn’t write a single blog that year, so you’ll have to accept that as my excuse as to why I never wrote a ‘Lessons: Junior Year’ edition.
Moving on, I graduated from college a bit over a month ago and decided to compile my favorite lessons I’ve learned in my last year at UConn.
1) When faced with two decisions, pick the one ending in the better story/more growth. Typically this is the choice that feels scarier to make. High risk=High reward. The riskiest decisions I made were also the most fulfilling and transformative.
2) You are your worst enemy, don’t be so hard on yourself.
3) You have TIME. You don’t have to have it all figured out by 22 and it’s okay if what you want to spend the rest of your life doing changes all the time.
4) Your personality, style, and interests, are some of your biggest strengths. Don’t follow trends too seriously and try not to copy what you see on the internet. Make it a goal to figure out what your personal twist is to life.
5) Be curious. Take on new hobbies. Make a list of things you want to take on.
6) ‘It can’t be done,’ is a myth.
7) Your new life will cost you your old one. Change can feel scary but it’s also exciting.
8) Try new things and stop caring whether or not they work out. Great ideas don't always work out but billions don’t even get to see the light of day.
